Find The True Secret In this Garden of Gown's

Paolo Sebastian took my heart away with his Fall Season 2015 Collection titled "Secret Garden". Before we get started "The Secret Garden" is one of my favorite movies. Its the perfect amount of history, mystery and a inner love story and female heroin. I used to watch the movie over and over as a kid.

Directed by Agnieszka Holland
Starring: Mary Lennox (Kate Maberly)

Now Introducing Paolo Sebastion Couture 2015

The creator Paolo is from Adelaid, South Australia is it seen his carved gowns are something of a romantic sculpture like masterpiece. Each one left me mystified and in love.

This piece infatuated me, it reminded me of a late mid-day walk across the terrace. This collection reminds me of the early 1900's and also the essence of the gowns drew me towards the movie Atonement.

The look to the left is one of a delicate ballerina and to the right show's her high-end mother, both looks fluff with prim sophistication. This wear turns me towards the 1920's fashion in southern France.

These gowns are beautifully stoic in the way they capture each parts curves. It reminds me of the Greek era, it flows yet it is easily able to shape each part of the model's body. I think well be seeing someone famous in the one on the left soon enough.

This Shows off a feminine side to romper-wear, and the shoulder's are elegantly traced with the same material used for the dress. The detail on both pieces is impeccable.

These two dresses are so beautiful, the dress on the left shows off a modern take on a 90's cotillion gown while the right shows off a beautifully placed floral decal dress ready for the Roarin 50's most chic housewife.

I'm unsure how to even begin. Both literally tell you how they would look underwater. They easily float on the women's body and give the amazing appearance of being merely etched on her body. I'm speechless.
These two dresses above show off the truly romantic side of night-time in the summer, they remind me of what one would expect the lovers were wearing in Mid-Summer night's Dream as told by Shakespeare.

These two dresses look like they were inspired by the delicate iris flower, as if plucked from the garden of his mind he carefully constructed two beautiful pieces that truly look like they sprouted from The Garden of Eden.

Just truly a beautiful collection I was dazzled by every piece, It leaves me with one quote to part with.

So Due to unfortunate circumstances (which will always be seens as fortunate in my eyes cause im stubborn) I'm not spending a summer in NYCwash

However I am spending a semester in Spain so its kind of a lose-win situation. One of the things I learned this past semester is never put all you're eggs in one basket. I am in DC/Maryland for the summer and the 20 year old in the city will pick up by me focusing on Washington D.C. It's easy for me to try and study fashion trends in a place I know best. One thing people don't know is the DMV is the home of true street style. I remember in high school when boys started to wear joggers it freaked me out cause I didn't understand why then all the sudden it was on the runway and miraculously I understood that this trend is cute and deem able to be registered as a must have fashion piece in men's, and alike many men's trends it became a well token fashion piece in women's. Just in case you don't know what i'm talking about....
JOKING...
Although Leo is very handsome and can wear anything I was thinking more on the lines of
*SWOONS*
There is just something about a man and a beard......
And there's something about a beautiful girl in joggers too

So to finish up my final 20 year old in the city post for NYC I'm going to post my last whimsical day that ended in the best surprise of the week, I have no idea what lead me to take the train to 14th street, but I woke up and needed to go. The universe was telling me to say goodbye for now and I happily unknowingly obliged.
I found myself walking to Starbucks which is not unusual for me. I adore Starbucks a little too much. I ordered a Smore's Frappiccino and turned around to find Finn Harris; twin brother to Jack Harris (You-tubers/Documentaryer's) in line for a drink. I followed their channel since I was 8 and I swear my heart never beat faster. I never thought in a million years I would come face to face with him. I got immediately embarrassing. I tried to summon my courage and I walked over to him and told him I loved his channel. He smiled at me and I melted right on the spot. I asked him if it wasn't to weird to take a selfie with me, meanwhile I also drooled about how much I've loved his channel and he laughed and said that's so funny cause my brother is on the phone as he turned to reveal a cellphone in his other hand and no doubt another audience member to witness my embarrassing display. As if nothing could be better he took the selfie and I took whatever muscle feeling I had and went to get my frappe. I know that i should of been cooler and somehow winged a hang out session to discuss details on shots, but I lost my cool. We all have our moments and this was one of mine. I've met a few celebrity's and interviewed a few (Ill make a post sometime), but never have any of them caught me off guard like he did. Ah well, there's always next time. To my dismay and inner excitement he goes to a school in NYC so maybe if we meet again he'll forget my selfie moment and I wont forget my cool.

I finally moved my jello legs out of Starbucks, after I generated an audience of questions after he left of people asking me just who he was. I started to explore 14th street. There was a couple fighting on one avenue and a couple holding hands on the next. I wound up in the midst of a sale of jewelry all down the line and I bought myself a leaf ring and my mother a jeweled ring. I finally found the place that held my heart and breathed it all in. Washington Square Park is magical. This time unlike Winter it was ringing with people. Students took to sun bathing on the grass, and babies played in the fountain, while my favorite pianist played the empty noise to onlookers. I found myself in the patch of grass underneath the falling flowers of the tree by the slight wind and got taken away by his keys on ivory. Truly heaven.

Till Next Time.

A 20 Year old in the City

So being in New York City you cannot choose to ignore fashion. Every time I step out into the streets I realize i'm either going to set a new trend or pretend to be minimalist until my fashion choices meet up to par. I had to help my friend take photo's in the city this week and I decided to let Cher who inspires my life, inspire my fashion choices. Needless to say  I said "As If" to the usually dark t-shirt and dark jeans, and went with a furry mint sweater from Forever 21, high waisted light jean shorts from Urban Outfitters and high length brown socks and black from H&M. Of course I paired this with my jelly inspired black sandles from JustFab, did I mention I have a shoe problem?

I took this shot while waiting for the 6 train of course. Through out the day I received cat calls, I don't know whats worse, being used to it to the point I don't even react or the fact that people mainly guys think I will respond in the way they want. One Later stopped me on the escalator telling me "You look so sexy look at those legs you go girl". I took this one positively mainly because a man came up after her and said "I'm sorry, she means well i'm her husband", Right after a following man staring at my legs eventually makes his way to my face and says nice hat. Right sir because my hat can be located on my thighs *sighs*

I digress.......Anyway I ended up on 28th street and was pleasantly surprised and met with food trucks and street performers. My favorite thing is seeing parks in the city, I find people who sit around so interesting. I often wonder where they come from, are they from the city? Do they own a posh apartment nearby? Why did they come. Every person in NYC comes for one reason, to be successful. Also almost everyone comes to show off their own personal fashion. Here's just a photo to get an idea of what a beautiful day it was.

So this time wasn't exactly the most exciting, I am still waiting for the love of my hipster dreams to come and find me but for now I take pictures and enjoy my first love, NYC. Till Next time :)

A 20 Year Old In the City

So as apart of my exploring NYC aesthetic, I decided to go to the Moma. The Moma is completely neurotic and if you understand even one piece of art, you are indeed an outside thinker. Did I also think that I possibly was destined to meet my "Hipster Hottie" while at the moma? Yes, of course, but, although I didn't find my "Hipster Hottie" I was able to enjoy the artist behind the famous Moma I loved every piece, my favorite was this particular display....
This room is hard to explain, the artist allowed the viewers to go read through three different pictures about articles on the three tragedies the holocaust, the Iraq war, and Nelson Mandela's jail-time. All the pain of those suffering from wars, unlawful racism and violent genocide was the inspiration of this room. Before entering the room you were told this is the result of all the pain caused. Emptiness...

Here are a few other photos of my expenditure through the art world,
Starry Night is the famous painting many travel to the Moma to see it was stunning in person and is no wonder an inspiration for many Artist.

You already know of my love for Edie Sedgwick, but who made her the  fashion icon of the world in the late 60's? None other than Andy Warhol!

And the last few are me trying to be artistic and getting yelled at by the security for being too close.......

So maybe this week was a bit scholastic, and maybe i'm still yet to meet the love of my life, maybe i'm a little bit more cultured, till Next time!

Fashion Takes us Back to the Future, 1,2 and 3

The 80's have come back in full spring and rumored to be the hit of the summer look. From blazers to men's wear shorts we expect this to come in full swing starting in July. We love fashion that tends to circulate through history and were ready to bring out our big scrunchy's, and side swept hair. Check out some of my favorite looks below and the movie-spiration of the week!

Rihanna known as the queen of Pop and fashion was caught wearing this plunging  periwinkle blazer and two slit skirt (ode to the 90's) from the Christian Dior Spring/Summer collection 2015 paired with white patterned high-heeled booties. Nothing makes me happier about the 80's movement was it was the time of where men's wear was developed as the new fad, with a sexy twist.
No wonder our favorite 80's pop- star Madonna was loving on her the entire night.

Who does this look remind us of? Our favorite fashionista Cosby, Lisa Bonnet. Her fashion choices will be the Inspiration for my summer outfits. We tend to forget the 80's was a classy time not just wild hair, new drugs and tu-tu's. Her touch of jewelry with the classic pearls are going to have a major come back in jewelry this summer as well as the business like watch.

Our summer hair-pieces are also being stolen by lovely Lisa Bonet. We love her connection to earth tones while still allowing patterns and trends the 80's funk brought us to. the best headbands to find are from Urban Outfitters we love pop designs in a nice brown or green. But don't forget you're scrunchies.

Still wanna be edgy with your outfit today? Saint Laurent's Spring/ Summer 2015 collection shows it can be as simple as ripping your stockings and choosing more of an angst look. Our two favorite outfits from this beautiful collection has us singing Super Freak!

Last but not Least my movie-Spiration of the week and 80's nostalgia is....
 TEEN WITCH

This movie defined 80's Teen Angst. The 80's movie circa was the beginning of the monster inspired film's such as Teen Wolf. This 80's film showed us what clothing to wear and its okay to be a nerdy teen as long as you have a fashionable past of being a witch in a past life either way we love this movie and its fashion choices although cliche to the 80's

But till next time, remember to

I wanna Put on My My My My BOOGIE Shoes....Rompers, Dresses, Shirts.....

From the straw hats to the crochet tops it can be certain that this look for the summer will be early 70's summer chic. All I know is I hope flare jeans wont be coming back as well, the last thing I need a whole new shoe selection to fit flare jeans. Here's a few inspirations for summer wear lovelies.

Nothings is better than the cute jogger outfit for a summer day this throw back is throwing back at the haters who told men they cant wear short shorts, fast walk away gym cuties, it is a following fashion trend at American Apparel.

This fashion trend hit hard in the fall and is expected to bring back memories for next fall season, The longer the skirt the cooler the fashion statement and paired with a gray, jean or floral and you have yourself a summer outfit, mostly to find these items or alike would be at your local Urban Outfitters.

The romper has been an ongoing trend for a few years but this season the biggest part of it is its patterns, paisley is back with a vengeance and paired with cute Mary-Jane's your 70's look can be too. To find these numbers check out your local Top-Shop!

Fashion Week Proved 70's was back here are a few of my favorite ticket items from the big names in the business, all features are from their collections for 2015 spring/summer.

Christian Dior paired cute black goulashes with a green mid-length dress giving us a mix feel of early 70's mod and late 70's coloring.

For Chanel they decided to pair the lovely turtleneck with 70's garb showing off a slight nautical feel using the navy blue coloring.

And  last but not least we have Versace showing us a beautiful gymetric one-piece pants suit bringing back the late 70's off white coloring back into the scheme for next season.

Movie Inspiration
I love movies especially those that show off great fashion choices, for summer and spring my favorite movie iunspiration for the early 70's look has to come from "Virgin Suicides" by Sofia Coppola, the faded coloring to the short dresses set in the 60s-70s made this cult classic a movie to die for and fashion styles to copy.

Does this make us Cheetahs: Our favorite trendy cheat pattern we love to wear

The new fad of Fall is pairing any solid fall colors with a Cheetah embellishment.

I'm talking about shoes, We love to mix our favorite fall colors like Burgundy, Forest Green, Velvet Purple, and of course Cobalt Blue with a cute item of the Cheetah pattern.

So grab a pair of shoes in cheetah or a purse or ever sunglasses and instantly up your outfit without having to take it out of pocket.

The biggest thing of Fall is utilizing trends and being able to pair  it with things you have so your not constantly spending money. Since its getting close to winter why not even invest in Cheetah printed gloves? Meowww

The Cheetah Scheme is a way to Mitch-match patterns. Notice to the left she pairs the cheetah shoes with a plaid scarf. This cheetah look reminds us of out fashion idol of the day.....

In Clueless our well-spoken Diva "Dion" wore the cutest Cheetah styled Jacket out for lunch with
"Cher" and their "New project". Will this show never stops being a inspiration for fashion?
AS IF!
