Edie Sedgwick Inspires Me........

You know the name Andy Warhol, but who was his main inspiration behind it all and who happened to be his best friend? Edie Sedgwick that's who, she starred in his many short films in the 60's. Vogue even named her "YouthQuaker" in one of their edition's in the 60's. She is always an inspiration to me and many designers so I decided after checking out a few works in Fall 2015 Couture Collection Vogue posted online to compare her style to whats relevant, pick my favorite of each collection and where to find a similar version of it. Before I get started If you want to know more about Edie-Warhol dynamic a great movie named "Factory Girl" 2006 and it even stars this heart-throb as her leading man....

Armani Priv'e

This piece from Armani Priv'e for Fall Couture reminds me of her chic blazer look, back at a photo shoot in the 60's. Although Edie's blazer is patterned and the blazer in the piece is sheer fade both the pieces are similar in how its executed. From the large earrings to the shoes the piece on the runway utilizes new futuristic colors of the same idea in Edie's outfit in the picture.

This look from Edie is reincarnated in this jacket in this piece. The frills, the length, and the chicness paired with big earrings......need I say more?

My favorite look from Armani Priv'e is..

 Want this look?

H&M: $17.99

H&M: $10.00

Forever 21: $24.80

Jean Paul Gaultier

In his collection is more nautical inspired when it comes to stripes but this piece showed me the most relatable pieces to Edie right down to the makeup.

This coat style is absolutely stunning the circle style he brought to the coat is ingenious. This circle style is used throughout his collection. Jean Paul Gaultier

My favorite look on the runway from Jean Paul Gaultier was...

Where Can I find This Look?

                                        Boohoo: $14.00

Valentino

This look from Valentino long sleeves and sleek reminding me of this shot with Edie. Its such a simple look but what I love about Valentino is he added a medallion and belt. His entire collection is outstandingly beautiful and is a tribute to the Greek Era.

This second look is elegant and simple. Although the contrast of colors is difference the beauty in each outfits simplicity is stunning.

My favorite Look...
Where Can I Find This Look?

                                                       Rare London: $42.00

Wipe Away Those Summer Blues And Get Ready For A Psychedelic Fall

Summer is almost over and with it that horrible tan you got while falling asleep at the beach, the never ending crush on the lifeguard who is suddenly less cute without his uniform and those reckless nights where you throw flip flops on when leaving because you're too lazy to actually look cute. It's time to get back into tip top shape for fall and here are the highlights, suggestions and fashion you should be looking for when you venture into the well known realm of BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING!

Makeup
When it comes to make-up I tend to let my lips do the talking. For fall I have the best of the best suggestions for great makeup quality under 30 dollars.

The picture above shows the Lorac Pro Pallet which is great for all skin tones it showcases natural hues that are usable for low-key class days and long club nights. Of course it also shows my obsession for Mac lipstick. The fall essentials when it comes to lipstick should showcase dark sides. Don't be afraid to experiment with purples and deep reds. My top picks from Mac for fall would be 1.Film Noir 2. Media 3. Matte Antique Velvet  4. Rebel A3 5. Sin. If you are into contouring Sephora has a great deal on a contour pallet by Cover FX for 40. As for a highlighter I love the Mac Prep-and-Prime called Peach Lustre for 26. As for concealer, powder, and blush it depends on the look you're going for. For fall I suggest Sweet As Cocoa for a blush, but remember If I am a darker-shade then you the best is to get an opinion day of by a Mac consultant. Now get your scrunchies and favorite hair accessories together we are going to Fall Fashion.

**DONT FORGET**
Skin care is important! My favorite is Proactive I've been an active user since I was young and it does wonders on your skin.

Wardrobe
My favorite trend that is in (FINALLY) is the love of early 70's late 60's fashion back with a vengeance. We are talking mid length skirts is faux-leather, turtle necks, plaid and   all things jeans (including dresses and skirts). Did you get that? whip out your moms old jeans skirts the trend is here to stay!! Did I mention clunky shoes to go with all these fabulous trends? Punks and
Hippies unite because it's out turn to shine this fall, even Jackie O fans can sing and dance along with us.

Skirts: For above corduroy and jean skirts go along way this fall, and the more buttons the better. Obviously the stars have caught wind of his summer trend like Taylor Swift, Alexa Chung, and Courtney Trop, but lucky for them its easily transformed as a fall essential with tights and high boots. This trend reminds me of the the lovable TV show with the original triple threats in fashion and on the streets.....CHARLIES ANGELS.

Pants

The long pants tailored look is cute for the office and on the street. Stretch those long legs in a nice long romper or just simple bell bottoms. My favorite combo of pants was the beginning of Cherry Bomb, featuring Kirsten Stewart and Dakota Fanning. The beginning showed the lovable 70's, bell bottom pants and promiscuity. whats not to love.

Dresses                                                                     For dresses, the mid droop and flare at the end makes for a perfect combination. One of my favorite looks off the runway that shows off cool black dress by Valentino 15 paired with the flirtiness of the 70's fashion.

My favorite movie that shows this is American Hustle, the dresses in the film was an amazing showcase of the 70's designs without the tacky floral decor, or lava lamps.

Summer Cosmetic Essentials

Here is a list in my opinion of the top Summer Cosmetic Essentials to be a total betty at the mall, beach or even around the house. Knowing my extreme obsession with 90's aesthetic and culture, this comes into play with my major pics. I cant help myself, is it so wrong i wish everyone was still wearing long floral dresses, plastic skirts, or overalls? *Sighs*

Nails:
I adore Essie its one of my favorite brands when it comes to nail color it drys so easily when im not into running to the nail salon, here are my summer colors mix and match for hot afternoons and warm nights!

Bond With Whomever                         Navigate Her

Berry Naughty                                  Private Weekend

Lacy Not Racy                                        Haute As Hello

Lady Like                                             Tiny -Winey

Make Up Essentials:
Alrighty so I am a brown brown girl so granted if you do not match my shade you should obviously make sure you ask what shade will fit you when it comes to face make up.

My favorite thing to put on my face for the summer is the Mac Lightful C Moisturizer,  my tone is "Dark Deep". Its basically a tinted moisturizer I use to clear any discolorations in my face, as a SPF and also as a face powder and concealer. Its easier than doing a full face of makeup and it still makes you shine.

This goes great with a nice Mineralizer SkinFinish,

I prefer using the "Cheeky Bronze" just cause if your'e not feeling a blush one day it basically is a blush and shimmer all in one. Its a great low key look for trying to look good on the beach without claiming the fact that you have make up on. (We All Do It) and if you don't congrats on your beautiful unblemished face, we all are openly jealous.

In Case you want to add a light blush I highly recommend "Ambering Rose", The photo below isn't the picture of what "Ambering Rose" looks like but its apart of the Powder blush Collection.
At the Moment I am not a huge Eyebrow drawer, I promise to take lessons and get back to you but when it comes to lips I cannot get enough of Mac Lipstick, it literally is the softest and most versatile type you will find in stores. For the Summer these are my favorites include....

Amorous
For this I actually don't recommend a lip liner only because my eyeshadow was stealing the show.

Ruby Woo
For Lip Liner i suggest the Cremestick liner called "Red Enriched"

Capricious
For Lip Liner I recommend the Cremestick liner called "Buerre"

There is one more color I extremely recommend for the summer if you are daring and love the shades of Brown, its called Noir and if you are able to find it in stores grab it, Im planning on grabbing it soon.

****Fun Fact****
one of these photos was taken at a Mac Free Makeover Celebration for Spring Here's My photo of the finished product, It goes to show, you should always experiment even with greens....

MOOOOVING ONNNN

So okay lets just dive into the harder part, when not stealing the show with amazing lipsticks, another way to have a main highlight on your face is you're eyeshadow. Once again i'm completely biased but Mac is still my number one for most makeup essentials. My favorite item they offer is this palette below it allows you to pick 9 shades in one palette's, for me I like more naturals and browns and a black or two. In case you're unsure what you want a nice starter palette would be....

This Palette is called "Eye Shadow X9: Amber Times Nine" I think its an amazing starter palette full of naturals and a few sparkles in case you're looking to spice up the night. I especially recommend using the caramels for dark brown eyes.

If you are feeling more adventurous I would recommend this palette "Eye Shadow X15 Warm Neutral", twice the colors and more the fun ;) Sorry cheesy.....

For Mascara and Eyeliner life is simple, Always go for Urban Decay. Mascara wise always use Big Fatty, and i'm a huge liquid eyeliner fan so I suggest for mutual fans to use "24/7 Water Proof Liquid Eyeliner In Perversion".

So All In All These are my main favorites when it comes to Cosmetic Summer Essentials, Why did I make a post about this? Cause blossoming time is upon us, summer is the perfect time to test out what looks work and to come back in the fall PROCLAIMING..

Thank you lovely Drew Barrymore For Allowing us to understand the true meaning behind a TBT

Summer's Inspiration

so for me the summer is the perfect time to stretch your stylistic preference. Are you into a laid back style. Do you prefer shorts, skirts, or dresses? Is it really worth your money to invest in those sandal heels you know you will only wear once, post on Instagram then hide it in the closet? (Conclusion: It wasn't). Or are you going to go with the nice and reliable floral pattern?

Summer fashion is the perfect time to experiment with your style. The 90's truly inspires me here are some of my looks that were inspired by fashionista's in the 90's and movies/tv shows that showed their fashion choices, as if that wasn't enough i'm also going to show off some fashion choices for the summer that coincide with the two looks.

The first look is from the movie "Clueless" Its my favorite scene where the girls are at gym and talking to their "arch nemesis" in the show. Not only was the actual commentary in the film absolute gold.

I was in love with how many outfits were made through the simply colors or white and black and how each look wasn't done in a tacky manner. On the Right I got my tube top from Urban Outfitters, the thigh-highs from H&M and the Skirt from Forever 21. I wore White vans, but would of preferred a sandal type shoe like below to tie the outfit together.

A line that I absolutely adore is Ruffian 2015 Spring/Summer line these two pieces below are absolutely breathtaking they take in the chic look of Wednesday Adam's meets the clueless 90's scene to recreate this look.

The Second Look airs with an unforgettable character on T.V. and Voice.....

The Nanny Holds the Award for some of the best fashion choices of the 90's Fran was an inspiration showing off her mid-drift and legs and still holding together fashionable pieces. I recreated her white on white from American Apparel, but paired it with a jean jacket from the thrift store and Doc Martins.
Just to take a peak.....
Fran was a great inspiration to the gem's you can find int he Thrift Store.

Mochino's Spring/Summer 15 look on the runway reminded us of some very "Fran" Meets Barbie Pieces.
